Are we required to wear gloves when handling food ? It is not a requirement to wear gloves whilst handling food. However, gloves may be worn to protect food. It is important to wash hands before putting your gloves on. Change your gloves on a regular basis, or as soon as they get dirty. Never re-use gloves. If gloves are not worn utensils should be used to handle and serve food and hands must be kept clean, wounds must be covered and jewellery and false nails should not be worn.

Does my food safety certificate expire? Our Statements of Attainment do not have expiry dates (apart from those issued by the NSW Food Authority). Some organisations individual food safety programs require annual updates for skills and knowledge or a refresher course.
